Little People Evaluation

1.    What are you thoughts on the finished product:?
At the start I made ideas that I thought were good enough until the day that were meant to take them I decided to change them because I thought my some of my ideas were not good enough, but I still did the mechanics room photo shoot, because I wanted photos that were different from the usual ones who are in our classrooms.

2. Does it look how you originally planned?
No I changed some of my ideas because, I thought my first ideas weren’t good enough. Some of them could not be done because some areas were not accessible at times and some others when I needed particular figures I could not get them. I did most of the others scenes I have chosen.

3. What do you think about the qualities of your work?
Most of my work figurines are in focus but the main weak point of my photos are that you could clearly see in some photos the blu tack that the figures are attached to. The lighting is also good in my photos you can clearly see the figures and there are no shadows covering the characters.

4. Give your ideas about comments from others, eg audience, peers, tutors, client.

Some of the comments were good and some were constructive, they all helped and gave me advice, for example a peer has given me advice on how to redo my scenes and helped me to understand what other people think is good and what is just not worth any ones attention.

RECCE FOR THE ELEVATOR

Power Sockets for lights etc
Do you need Permission(s)/Who
The lighting we will need will probably the most simple: the built in flash of the camera, because all of our settings and places will either have natural light or artificial light e.g. Lights

We need permission from our tutor because we are using expensive equipment.
Set design / Items required
What are the light sources in the space
We will be using the little models of people and also a mini ladder.

There is artificial light in the elevator but there will also be a flash in the camera.
Preparation Notes
Health & Safety Notes
We need to find a suitable time in which to take the photo because it will be very disturbing to other people if we take the elevator for too long

We need to be careful not to cause a disturbance otherwise everything else is completely safe.

RECCE FOR THE MECHANICAL ROOM

We will need permission to work in the mechanics room because there are Health & Safety rules we will need to follow.
Set design / Items required
What are the light sources in the space
the only props I will need will be the little person and a little toy car because I will be trying to show the good things about the course and that no matter what size or ethnicity you are.

Natural light and flash from the camera.
Preparation Notes
Health & Safety Notes
We need to use a suitable time for the picture to be taken because we do not want to get into the way of people working.

Artist Slinkachu

Slinkachu is an artist who started his little people photography in 2006. He is 28 years old and he has been inactive since 1979-2006. He is 5ft9. He focuses of portraying the lives of little clay models that experience things out of proportion. Because the “little people experience things about a hundred times bigger, therefore it kind of shows his thoughts about humanity and how many things no matter how small still very powerful in our lives. He started of by drawing graffiti on snails, because they portray that we need to cover every empty space with some sort of paintings and images. Since snails go everywhere in the city it shows that idea as graffiti being everywhere.
How he started I think is by trying to show how we use our places that we live in are used as canvases and how many weird things happen around that concerns us and that doesn’t. He is not a professional photographer.   http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1335/1349550061_7d103291e8.jpg

Monday Lesson 27th September

Shutter speed and aperture. Made different photos at different shutter speeds and different appertures.

This photo above has been taken with the lower aperture, this is the reason why the photo seems dark. The features of the subject are unclear it does nt help that the subject is wearing dark clothing.
This photo has been taken under the medium aperture. You can clearly see the subject features the subject seems very clear.
In this photo the subject is over exposed because the aperture setting was quite high therefore the subject seems very bright.
In this photo the subject is under exposed because the subjects features are unclear and it seems the photo has been done in dark conditions or at night.
Here the subject seems normal because everything seems clear.
Here the subject seems over exposed because the jacket shines brightly and the texture of the skin seems very bright.
This picture is under exposed because the subject is wearing radk clothing and it does not show on the histogram because there is no colour where the black is.
The subject is properly exposed because all the features are sharp.
